Miller Building Inspections

Updated: Jul 20, 2018

Robert Miller, a client at the Illinois Small Business Development Center of McLean County at Illinois Wesleyan University, opened his business in May 2017.

Miller has long dreamed of starting a business that allowed him to leverage the 35 years of plumbing experience he gained during his career with the Town of Normal along with his extensive HVAC; electrical and general construction knowledge. Early in 2017, he decided to take the plunge and start his home inspection business. Miller Building Inspections operates within McLean County and surrounding communities to help home buyers and sellers understand the true condition of a property before they finalize their purchase. Miller shares that his company’s goal is to “provide you with the information you need to make a sound and informed decision.” In addition to helping folks who are purchasing an existing home, Miller also inspects new construction homes, bank foreclosures, and commercial properties. Miller visited the SBDC of McLean County at Illinois Wesleyan University before officially opening his business in May to discuss his marketing strategy, and how to grow his client base. He also expressed that “admittedly having the courage to chase my dream was probably my biggest hurdle. The SBDC was a big help there.” We have truly enjoyed working with Robert Miller and seeing his business develop over the past few months! Miller Building Inspections also offers a 10% discount to First Responders, Military Personnel, Law Enforcement and Educators. Miller believes “we all rely so greatly on these professions and they are often under-appreciated and under paid. It’s my small way of giving back to the community.” Visit Miller Building Inspections’s Website at www.millerbuildinginspections.com to learn more, book an appointment, or to read their informative blog today.
