Lavender & Lili

Updated: Dec 13, 2018

When presented with an opportunity, Angela Labertew decided it was time to pursue her longtime desire to start her own boutique encompassing everything she loves – fashion, décor, and events. But like many new small-business owners, she says she knew very little about the steps required to get started.

Many entrepreneurs, like Angela, have a fantastic concept for a business and adequate resource at their disposal, but they don’t know how to get started on the journey of making their vision a reality. The Illinois Small Business Development Center of McLean County at Illinois Wesleyan University (SBDC) is ready and willing to help.

“Working with the SBDC gave me the confidence to continue through the process,” says Angela. “They provided the knowledge every small business owner needs to gain as they prepare for day one.”

With the SBDC’s suggestions and guidance, Angela feels she’s achieved her dream of creating a boutique shop that truly reflects her heart. It’s a comfortable, home environment that Angela hopes will make everyone feel welcome. “I want it to be known for its fantastic product and caring customer service,” she says.

Located among a community of beautiful boutiques and shops in downtown Lexington, Lavender & Lili offers unique fashion and home décor items. Angela feels that her businesses and values fit in perfectly to the Lexington community, and she is so grateful for the way the community has accepted and embraced her. She describes the character of her items as the “latest” and “loved” – offering both new and gently used items in the fashion and home décor space. It’s worth a trip to Lexington!

Stop in Lavender and Lili Wednesday-Friday from 11am-5pm, or Saturday from 10am-4pm, or visit their website at www.lavenderandlili.com to order online today!
