Master's Touch Salon

Master’s Touch Salon is a full-service salon owned and operated by Authrine T.K. Singleton offers hair, facials, mani/pedis, and Hairadox retail products. Since high school Authrine has held a passion for helping women achieve their optimal beauty through styling hair; in 2004, she graduated from Illinois State University with a master’s degree in Social Work. Working as a social worker helped create the opportunity for Authrine to become a resource in providing hair care to foster and adoptive families. In 2009 Singleton opened Master’s Touch Hair Salon to combine her talent for providing superior hair care services with her dedication to supporting families in the foster care system. Since then, she has been styling hair as a licensed cosmetologist with great joy, with being a stylist offering its own excitement and rewards. Authrine stands behind the motto at Master’s Touch, “We put quality in, so greatness walks out!” Authrine heard about the SBDC through a friend and worked with our Business Advisor, Gabriela Montaigne, to create an updated business plan and establish a clearer financial plan. Having no formal business education or training, Authrine’s collaboration with Gabriela and the SBDC has given her more clarity and focus for her business, which is priceless. Authrine says her long-term goals are to expand to two locations, increase her staff, become more well-known, and share more classes and education with foster families and the African American community.
